Huge congratulations to Year 5 pupil and Challenge Club member, Maya O’Hagan who was selected as the winner of her category in the Northern Ireland Young Travel Writing Competition. Author Sheena Wilkinson was the judge and Sheena said:
“I chose Maya’s poem as the winner. Perhaps because of the poem format, there was a lovely economy of language. It was enthusiastic and lively, and I loved how she took us on a tour of Northern Ireland. As a piece of travel writing, this was the one that succeeded most, in my opinion. I hope lots of people get to read it and are inspired to visit some of the places.”
Maya travelled to Belfast with her family last Wednesday for the presentation and received a camera to capture some more special memories.
